Polish Your Jewels, Gents.

Love your problog-prostatestate and other man parts now. Waiting until it’s too late and living through that “I shoulda, woulda, coulda” phase is serious business. But not the good kind. Taking good care of yourself now helps keep you out of harms way, and I don’t mean harm of the natural sort. I mean when things get so bad that you may feel that you have no choice but to take a physician up on the poisonous life deteriorating pharmaceutical drug offer to save your life!

Get your stress level down to a bare minimum. A high power job does not need to entail high power stress. That’s a conscious decision you have to make for yourself and I don’t simply mean the “worth it” factor either. Management, management, management. If you can manage 5 – 5000 employees you can definitely be the big boss of your stress, easily. Start here: mindfulness, gratitude and meditation.

Get active! A little high intensity exercise goes a long way at any age. Reduce the blog-prostate-funnyamount of time that you spend sitting, even if you only go for a little 10 minute power walk. Every minute you have your keister off of that office chair you make your prostate feel the love flowing, literally. Congestion of the prostate can be far worse than the type of congestion you build up in your chest. Just like your other body parts, the prostate needs to receive nutrients, ample blood circulation and time to just breathe for good health and ultimate performance. Yes, you can turn back the hands of time. I’ve seen several of my clients do it once they started taking what their so called doctors preached to them with a grain of salt. Do you really want to fund that dudes next yacht after all?

Watch your mouth! Or rather what goes in it. Gobble down those delicious antioxidants like your life depends upon it since it does. Berries can be your prostates “berry” best friends. While processed foods wear a long dark cloak, walk with a super sharp sickle and a grim meatless finger pointed straight at your torpid little testicles. Let’s not go there.

Love & Light!

The Dangers of Stress

The Dangers of Stress

We all know how negatively stress affects our emotional states and responses to stressors, our physical being and mental condition, but are we taking it seriously? Are we alleviating it with simple steps or temporarily masking it with a glass of scotch rather than the heart helpful glass of wine? Chemical infested cigarettes rather than a short vacation to Colorado for ski slopes, snow bunnies and natural smokes?

Blog Stress

We can’t even blame our bulging bellies on too much bread any more. Research shows that stress is also partially responsible for that “bad belly.” It leads to recirculation of hormones through the liver and constipation too. It directly affects your sex hormones negatively and increases your bodies production of cortisol to an unnecessary level. Stress prompts adrenal burnout and doesn’t allow you to easily access your memory bank at will. Your body’s response to stress utilizes a vast amount of energy that is needed by other processes like growth, the immune system, digestion and even reproduction. But if there’s not enough energy left for those… well… You may not hear the computer power down notification sound but it’s happening Jack.

The answer is simple, take better care of you. Be mindful, be present, breathe deeply, decompress after each major or stressful activity, get that heart rate up for at least 15 minutes of a 20 minute exercise session and be thankful for being able to do all of the above.
